MICAH offers ministries for body, mind and spirit including contemplative and silent prayer, meditation, spirituality, spiritual direction, and retreat center.  The Family Practice and Integrative Medicine Center also offers holistic health and healing services including integrative, complimentary, alternative, and natural medicine, replacement therapy, natural healing, natural menopause, bio-identical hormones, and replacement therapy.

Daniel Wolpert, MDiv

Executive Director and Co-Founder
of Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH)

Daniel, a Presbyterian minister, is cofounder of the Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH). He has been a student of the spiritual life since age 21 and has taught in the fields of psychology and spiritual formation in numerous settings. In addition to his retreat and teach work, Dan provides counseling and spiritual direction services at MICAH. He is also the author of “Leading a Life with God, the practice of spiritual leadership", “Creating a Life with God: the call of ancient prayer practices", co-author of “Meeting God in Virtual Reality", and most recently “The Collapse of the Three Story Universe: Christianity in an age of Science”.

Trey Everett, MA

Co-Director
of Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH)

Trey has been involved in the study and practice of spirituality for 30 years. His present work and interests focus around wisdom traditions, contemplative Christian teachings and practices, creativity, nature, and healing. As a spiritual director, contemplative artist, and retreat teacher Trey seeks to work alongside others who desire a deeper understanding, connection and experience with themselves and the world around them. Some of his contemplative art includes graphic recording, Healing through Art, and Holy Doodles; Cartoons to Contemplate.

Before beginning work with MICAH in 2006 he served in a variety of positions in the institutional church throughout the midwest and in China. Trey and his wife Corene live in Northwest Minnesota with their three children Madeline, Zoe and Jack.

Debra Bell, MD

Co-Founder
of Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH)

Dr. Bell is board certified in family practice with 20 years in conventional medicine and complementary and alternative medicine. She cares for patients from birth to the elderly. Dr. Bell is skilled in homeopathy, vitamin/nutritional therapy, diet/lifestyle changes and bio-identical hormone replacement. Prior to moving to Crookston, she had practices in Vermont and California that combined home births, family practice and integrative medicine.

Corene Everett

Corene Everett is passionate about sourcing, cooking and eating real food while inspiring others to do the same. Having lived in China for 3 years, she especially loves Asian stir-fries as a way to eat a wide variety of vegetables. She has taught cooking classes at the MICAH retreat center since October 2009, and in April 2012 completed a Whole Food Kitchen 12 week course.
