MICAH offers ministries for body, mind and spirit including contemplative and silent prayer, meditation, spirituality, spiritual direction, and retreat center.  The Family Practice and Integrative Medicine Center also offers holistic health and healing services including integrative, complimentary, alternative, and natural medicine, replacement therapy, natural healing, natural menopause, bio-identical hormones, and replacement therapy.

Trey to Show in Creative ArtWorks of Crookston Exhibit

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) is excited to announce an exhibit of Creative ArtWorks of Crookston in our East Grand Forks Gallery. Seven artists' works come together for this unique group exhibition, showcasing some of the thriving creativity from the Crookston MN community, including award winners and area favorites.

Featured artists are:

  • Irene Bertils - Charcoal, Acrylic, and Pastel Realism
  • Jean Westman - Silver Jewelry and Copper 3D
  • Marti Newquist - Watercolor Fantasy Nature

The exhibit will be available for viewing through the month of November during gallery hours:

  • Wed - Sat: 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Sun: 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Closed Mondays and Tuesdays

The Arts Council Gallery and River Walk Artists Shop & Gallery are located in the River Cinema mall, East Grand Forks, across Demers Avenue from Cabela's. Parking is available in the large lot next to the Blue Moose.

Leading Differently: 2016 FTE Christian Leadership Forum Reflections

How do we shape a more hopeful future by leading differently? This was the question explored by over 200 faithful leaders at the 2016 FTE Christian Leadership Forum. The Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE) hosted a diverse, intergenerational gathering of Christian leaders—young adults, faith-based community workers, doctoral students, leaders of theological schools, congregations and church-related organizations.

This publication includes insights and reflections from the gathering, including Dan Wolpert's piece "Making Space for Something New" on page 6.

Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly

Trey did graphic recording for each of the four main sessions at the Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly as well as a commissioned piece for the final session on “Go Forth and Do Likewise.”

From the Lower Susquehanna Synod:

"We are fortunate to have an artist-in-residence this Assembly, who is sharing his gifts through 'holy doodling'--listening to the Gospel calls to action for justice and mercy, and interpreting these teachings for us through art."

Religion plays a major role in the lives of millions, especially in our early formative years. Sometimes this formation is positive. But far too often it’s not. Toxic theology, any theological system that fosters trauma or abuse, is all too common in the Christian Church experience. Our 2016 Conference, held April 6-9 at The Open Book in Minneapolis, MN, explored these topics.
