3 ^sGo up to a land flowing with milk and honey; ^tbut I will not go up among you, ^ulest I consume you on the way, for you are a ^vstiff-necked people.”

5 For the Lord had said to Moses, “Say to the people of Israel, ‘You are a ^vstiff-necked people; if for a single moment I should go up among you, I would ^yconsume you. So now ^xtake off your ornaments, that I may know what to do with you.’”

9 And he said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please ^llet the Lord go in the midst of us, for ^mit is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for ⁿyour inheritance.”

6 “Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are ^ga stubborn people.

The Golden Calf

13 ^p“Furthermore, the Lord said to me, ‘I have seen this people, and behold, it is ^ga stubborn people.

27 For I know how rebellious and ^cstubborn you are. Behold, even today while I am yet alive with you, ^dyou have been rebellious against the Lord. How much more after my death!

8 ⁱDo not now be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord and come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, ^jthat his fierce anger may turn away from you.

51 ^d“You stiff-necked people, ^euncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. ^fAs your fathers did, so do you.
