12  From out of the city the dying¹ groan,

and the soul of ^xthe wounded cries for help;

yet God charges no one with ^ywrong.

2  O Lord, ^bhow long shall I cry for help,

and you will not hear?

Or cry to you ^c“Violence!”

and you will not save?

8  though ^tI call and cry for help,

he shuts out my prayer;
